Snazzy bistros are everywhere but there are still enough noodle stands left to give budget eaters a great meal.
Three shopping centers
Three major shopping centers and a vegetable market makes grocery shopping a treat
Century is upmarket
Century Plaza, across from Lotus, offers dozens of trendy restaurants, an upmarket grocery store (Tops) and movies. It can be reached by using the BTS as a bridge from the Lotus side of Sukhumvit
EmQuartier is very hi-so
If you like to shop, eat or be entertained Bangkok’s ritziest shoppingcomplex is only a seven minute BTS ride away
Its food section in the basement of Helix Quartier has even better groceries than Tops in Century Plaza
Eat cheap
Several Eatigo restaurants surround Fair Tower; pick the right time and the price of a taco or a hotel buffet – for example, the Greenery at the Avani Hotel – drop by as much as 50 percent
Hotels and hostels
Your visitors can stay at a hostel (VX The Fifty), or the upscale Avani Hotel attached to Century Plaza
Great many coffee shops
Literally a dozen – Soi 50 coffee places range from Laff with its cathedral ceiling to the simpler Cafe Oh La La, both a three minute walk away.
Feeling alive is very Soi 50
Yoga center, tennis club, massage facility, upmarket manicure clinic, kid’s swim club and even a Fight Club are not far away
Night spots everywhere
Start at an eatery like Oak Valley for some good grub but sneak to Cheap Charlie’s (Beacon Entertainment complex) for community camaraderie
